UE Advocacy Managed Package

UserEvidence Advocacy — Features & Team Guide

Who this is for: everyone who uses UE Advocacy in Salesforce — sellers, customer success, marketing/advocacy program managers, and admins. It explains what the tool does and how your team uses it, in plain language. No Salesforce or technical background needed.

Setting it up is a separate job for your Salesforce admin — that lives in the Admin Setup Guide. This document is about using it.

What UE Advocacy is

UE Advocacy brings your customer-advocacy activity into Salesforce. When a happy customer agrees to be a reference for a deal, or an advocate refers a new lead, that activity shows up on the right Salesforce records so your team can see it, act on it, and report on it without leaving Salesforce.

It does two main things:

  • References — a seller asks a customer to vouch for a deal (a reference call, a name-drop, an RFP response), and the whole request is tracked to completion on the Opportunity.
  • Referrals — an advocate submits a new lead, which lands in Salesforce and is credited back to that advocate all the way through to closed revenue.

Who uses what

RoleWhat they do with it
Sellers / AEsRequest references from the Opportunity, and watch them progress to "done."
Customer SuccessHelp identify and manage advocates; see advocacy activity on their accounts.
Marketing / advocacy program managersRun the reports and dashboards to see reference and referral impact on pipeline and revenue.

Feature 1 — Requesting a reference

This is the day-to-day seller feature. From an Opportunity:

  1. Open the Opportunity and find the Reference Management panel (or the Reference Management action button).
  2. Fill in the short request form — things like your Business Unit, the reference type (Reference Call, Name-drop, or RFP), and the prospect who will take the call. The form adapts as you go (for example, choosing "RFP" reveals a couple of extra fields).
  3. Submit. That sends the request to UserEvidence, where the advocacy team lines up a suitable advocate and coordinates the call.

You don't have to leave Salesforce or chase anyone manually — once you submit, you track everything from the Opportunity.

An Opportunity can have more than one reference request at a time. Each one is tracked on its own.

Feature 2 — Tracking a reference

Every reference request moves through a fixed set of stages, shown as a tracker on the Opportunity:

StageWhat's happening
RequestedYou've submitted the request; UserEvidence has it.
Awaiting AdvocateUserEvidence is lining up the right advocate.
Awaiting ProspectAn advocate is ready; the prospect is being scheduled.
BookedThe reference call (or activity) is scheduled.
CompletedThe reference happened.
CancelledThe request was stopped (a terminal state).

If an Opportunity has several references, you'll see a tracker for each, stacked together, so you can tell at a glance where each one stands. Each row shows the reference's ID, its current stage, and — once an advocate is assigned — the account that advocate belongs to. You can filter the list by stage and search it by reference ID, advocate, or account.

Feature 3 — Reference results on the Opportunity

When a reference reaches Completed, the Opportunity is automatically stamped with:

  • UE Advocacy Reference ID — links the deal to the reference that was fulfilled.
  • Reference Completed By — the advocate who gave the reference.
  • Reference Status — the reference's current stage.
  • Reference Received Date — when it completed.

These are what the reference reports read, so your team's pipeline reporting reflects which deals had references and who helped.

Feature 4 — The referral flow

When an advocate refers a new lead, here's the journey:

  1. The advocate submits a referral in UserEvidence.
  2. It arrives in Salesforce as a Lead with the source set to "Advocate Referral," carrying details about the referring advocate.
  3. Your rep works and converts the Lead the normal way, into a Contact and an Opportunity.
  4. On conversion, the advocate-attribution details carry over to the Opportunity automatically.
  5. From then on, the referral reports credit that advocate for the pipeline and, if it closes, the revenue.

The result: you can see which advocates are sending you real, revenue-driving business.

Feature 5 — Reports & dashboards

The package ships two sets of reports, in two folders.

Reference impact (folder UE Advocacy, plus the UE Advocacy Dashboard):

  • Win Rate of Opportunities with Reference — how much references lift your close rate.
  • Opportunity Revenue Influenced by Reference — revenue on deals that had a reference.
  • Average Time to Close With Reference — whether references speed deals up.
  • References Received — volume and throughput of references.
  • Request Reference Impact and UE Advocates By Account — request activity and advocate coverage per account.

Referral performance (folder UE Advocacy - Referrals, plus the Advocate Referral Performance dashboard) — ten reports (R-1 to R-10) covering referral revenue, open pipeline, win rate, lead-to-opportunity conversion, deal-size and speed vs non-referrals, and a top-advocate leaderboard.

Program managers typically live in the dashboards; sellers mostly use the request and tracking features above.
